Page 1 of 2 Day 17, March 25, 2008. Version 1.0 Item #22. Homework assignments for today and Thursday, March 27, 2008. This repeats what was on the whiteboard on Day 16. Day 17, March 25. Read §§5.2, 5.3. Do 5.2 (1, 4, 7, 8, 13). Day 18, March 27. Read §§6.1, 6.2. Do 6.1 (5, 7, 9) and 6.2 (4, 13). Item #23. Errata. Just some small things that you probably didn’t even notice. Day14.pdf: I corrected to March 25 the due date for the §5.2 assignment. As for the March 16 assignment now past, it was meant to include “5, 7b,” but somehow that got typed as “5b,”. There is no 5b, so you all did 5, and 7b got missed. This made each problem worth 1/5 of the assignment instead of 1/6 as I had in mind originally. March 16 is past, so this isn’t important. Day 15.pdf: I corrected the link to a full citation of my dissertation. Mid-term exam postmortem & Day15.pdf: I removed E in the definition of a grammar. A grammar is a quadruple (N, T, S, P). We never mention an alphabet E only some of which might be terminals. Mid-term exam postmortem:
