Idler 1Alyson IdlerLlianne DimalantaBIO 162 Lab9/17/21Mini-lit review:AcneAcne, also known as acne vulgaris, is a common skin condition in which you get pimples, blackheads, and whiteheads caused by an accumulation of dead hair follicles. Acne can manifestin many different ways as inflammatory and non-inflammatory lesions. It is mostly common inteenagers and young adults because once someone hits puberty, there is an overabundance of oilproduced on the skin. This skin condition is treatable with the use of oral antibiotics,over-the-counter creams, and prescription creams from a dermatologist.According to Wiley Online Library, oral antibiotics are used to treat moderate to severeinflammatory cases, which confirms its effectiveness in treating acne. Oral antibiotics are mostefficacious for treating acne as the drug attacks the pathogenic structures. The most commonantibiotic that is prescribed to someone with acne is tetracycline because it allows the drug totransfix itself onto the pilosebaceous unit.
