Fall 2007 ECE 222 System Programming Concepts 1 of 2 Lab 7 – Spreadsheet In this lab, each student is to write a prompt-driven program called prog7.c that functions as a simple spreadsheet allowing the user to enter numbers, text, or functions into a grid. Input The program should allow the user to enter numeric values, text, or formulas into any cell. As new data is entered, the spreadsheet should be updated and redisplayed. The program should run until the user enters a quit command. The maximum size of the spreadsheet should be 9 x 9 cells. Rows should be labeled with numbers (starting with 1), and columns should be labeled with letters (starting with A). Cells should be referenced by a letter number pair, with no space or symbol between (i.e. A1 or e9 ). Notice that letters must be able to entered in either upper or lower case. The program cannot prompt what type of entry is being made into a cell. It should only prompt for an input. If the user types data consisting only of numeric values, for example 4.5321 , then the program must recognize that input as a number.
