2) ALEKS is software that uses ongoing assessments to create individualized educational learning
plans that can be accessed through the Internet.

a. The codes needed for ALEKS are the Course Code and the Access Code.
b. To find the course code, I scroll to the bottom of the addendum (syllabus). The Course
Code can also be found in the Course Materials tab under Financial Aid Access Code.
Here you can find a Temporary Access Code that allows 2 weeks’ worth of access into
the ALEKS software before buying the access code.
4) The activities that count towards my overall course grade are the work in ALEKS which is
worth 65% of my grade, as well as 5 projects which are worth 35% of my grade.
5) The Initial Knowledge Check in ALEKS is a 30-question assessment that you take before
proceeding through the course material. This helps determine what I know already, what I need
to learn, and what I am ready to learn. It affects my status in ALEKS by creating an individualized
learning path based on the results of my assessment.
