CHURCHILL'S IRON CURTAIN SPEECHWinston Churchill’s Iron Curtain SpeechChurchill believes the Soviet Union "desires the fruits of war and the indefinite expansion of their power and doctrines." How might those expansionist desires challenge the Westernprinciple of national political self determination, a cause it championed during World War 2? In his speech, Churchill says that he believes that Soviet Union(Russia) did not want war but they were looking more toward the enlargement of their power. Soviet Union’s capacity quivered the United Nation because of the previous experiences in wars. Churchill does not wantthe United State or any other countries go through another drastic war, the possible WWIII because of the Soviet Union’s establishment communism in Eastern European government and around the world. He suggests that America and her allies should join all “English–speaking commonwealth,” if the British Commonwealth and the America come together to form a Brotherhood organization (fraternal association), then both country becomes unconquerable with the shared safety and security; both countries will get the advantage from the welfare. So this irresistible western power can prevent a war from happening and stop the Soviet Russia from expanding their “iron curtain” any further.
