The psychological stress caused by systematic racism often leads tomental health deterioration. Most of the research examining mental health inequities employsrace to compare outcomes between marginalized and dominant racial groups. However, identifying and addressing the mechanisms that underlie inequities require more in-depthanalyses of the contexts in which people who belong to racial minority groups experience poorhealth outcomes (Alang, 2019, p. 346).
