Seth Plummer Week 2 Reading Journal From our reading of Hanson pages 1-18 I formulated a question to myself. The question I pose to myself and possibility others is…”How Christian am I”? On pages 1-2 Hanson states that the three aspects of faith are commitment, trust, and belief. I have commitment to my faith. I observe Christian holydays and pray. But when I think about my commitment to God and my religion I realize that I only pray when things get bad and I only attend church on holidays. So is that the total commitment that God is asking for? I trust that there is a God (well maybe not a god but a higher power); I believe that “that power” has helped me at times in my life and that “that power” has a direct influence on my life. So do I believe in the since that I think that God is all loving, all knowing, and all powerful…I guess not. Hanson says that “people’s actual faith shapes their lives” (Hanson, 3). So then what is faith? On Page three of Hanson, Hanson says that “faith gives unity to a person’s life”.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
