Seth Plummer Week 4 Reading Journal Ah, the human condition. Hanson says that “Humans are absolutely dependent upon God for their existence” (81). To me, the human condition is just that, a condition. The human condition is that we are all fundamentally flawed. Another way to look at the human condition is that it is “another way to explain the human condition is how we are all like the image of God” (Hanson 85). Genesis 1-3 says that God made the heavens and the earth, and that we were made in the image and likeness of God. In our group presentations a majority of the class presented the human condition as something that either was evil or something that needed to be worked on. I think that the human condition is something that is primarily good. It is what categorizes us as human. You could look at the human conditions as a hero’s fatal flaw. The flaw, although negative, is what makes the hero a hero. So, why do I think that the human condition is positive?
