The intended audience of Julie Powell’s food blog might be to those who have a passion for cooking and actually love spending their time in the kitchen instead of those who just cook because they have to. For example, when Julie says that her soul “crosses its fingers and prays as hard as it can that when I am her age, I’ll be just like Julia.” This shows something that the audience can relate to because at one point they must have been inspired by a chef that they wanted to be like and saw them as someone who could not only can cook but also as someone who they admire, just like Julie did to Julia.

The purpose of each excerpt in this section is evident because they show different experiences that people have had with food and how certain foods are good and others aren’t. Some of the excerpts purposes are to tell the audience how certain foods, for example, junk food or frozen foods, are very common and bad for us, while the other tells us that chocolate is good with a cup of coffee. The purposes relate to the audience because they might have experienced something similar to what the excerpts say and they can relate to it....
