Politics & Economics Personally I have never closely followed politics, and often find myself siding with my friends or family on issues that come up in the news. I think my uninterested in voting is the lack of knowledge I have in that aspect. I grew up in a slip family – one parent a democrat one a republican, so politics were not talking about over the dinner table. Through out high school there is very little talk about it because you have to worry about teachers persuading their students one way or another. Those are just some reasons why I don’t follow the election process. The article Voter Turnout Low, Apathy High Among Youngest Age Bracket, from cbsnews.com gives a few student excerpts on their reasons why they do not contribute to voter turnout. In the 2004 general election only 47% of people ages 18-24 voted. However, this number did raise about 10% from the 2000 election to the 2004 election. With the recent Supreme Court decision of removing a cap on campaign spending, there will be several implications following this decision. The first thing I think about with this
