Redundancy is an important part of the network design because it allows a network to be active even if there is a failure in the network. Plus the end users are also not affected by a failure in the network due to redundancy. 2. Explain the three issues caused by layer 2 loops: a. MAC Database instability –copies of the same frame being received on different ports of the switch. Data forwarding can be impaired b. Broadcast storms – each switch may flood broadcasts endlessly c. Multiple frame transmission – multiple copies of the unicast frames can be delivered to the destination.
