Pacts and treaties, events and reactions, individuals: - Wilson and Lodge: Two very stubborn people. - Nye: comes up with merchants of death. Blames WWI on them. The Nye committee. - Robert Taft: Fights our involvement in the war from day 1. As soon as the war is over, wants us to come home and avoid Europe. - Burton Wheeler: Fights against the draft.) - Lind burgh: Popular person to the American people. Spokesperson to Hitler for the American people. Republicans fight tooth and nail and oppose this war. The Americafirsters, they want America to come first and want us to stay out of the war. In this war we have the axis powers: Germany, Austria, Vichy French, Italy, Hungary, and Japan. This is basically a war between right wing and left wing government. The way to tell which is which is by who they support and who supports them. If it a government that is backed by the catholic church or big business or supports the regular army, a monarchy, etc. That is a right wing government. These people are called Fascists. They are religious and anti-communist. A left wing government supports a republic, like the French or Spanish republic. They tend to be atheistic. They also tend to be Protestants, socialistic or communistic. It is left wing vs. right wing.
