Chapter 1 p. 1-15 Educational Psychology The study of learners, learning, and teaching Accumulated knowledge, wisdom, and seat-of-the-pants theory to solve the daily problems of teaching. Giving teachers good principles to use in making a good decision and a language to discuss their experiences and thinking. Example - Ellen can not get her children to write well, in creative writing class. She finds that Leah is using concepts of educational psychology to consider how she will teach, and how to solve the problems she runs into. Ellen uses the same method and then finds ways that actually work for her students. What is Needed to Be the Teacher You first need to know a skill or have more knowledge about a subject the learner does not have.
