Daniel Uribe English 1a 11/6/07 Propaganda Under a Dictatorship / By Aldous Huxley Responding in Writing I believe that the Internet can act both ways as to make it easier or harder for a dictator to control its people, depending on how the government reacts and how long it takes them to do so. When the internet has no controls restraining it from being used as the rest of the world uses it, it can act as a dictatorship’s worst enemy. The Internet is a place where people go to share their ideas that were not so welcomed in other places. It is an outlet where outcasts can grow to be global personalities and where kids can become business moguls. It is a leveled playing field, where everyone has the same opportunity to make their ideas visible to the public. For this reason it would act as a terrible weapon against dictatorships. Any opposition to the dictatorship could propagate at incredible speeds and pass under the radar of most people as it is all done electronically without much commotion. People could easily form groups, recruit people and organize events to
