John Smith February 12, 2007 My Devotion to Academics Throughout my academic career I have pushed myself to the limit and have always worked for my future. My dedications in academics, contributing to my school and community, and the support from my family are all things that have helped me accomplish my goals. My Future is immensely important to me and I intend to complete all necessary courses and activities to insure my goals for college and my career. I have taken many classes throughout high school and a couple through the city of Torrance. Every single year I dedicated an enormous amount of energy and time into my classes. I excelled in the liberal arts category: Social studies, literature, and fine arts. I had an extremely difficult time with math, and some science. To improve my skills in math I was enrolled in a number of tutoring classes at the Sylvan Learning Center, by West High teachers, and by friends to ensure my success. After school hours a person could usually find me attempting to absorb as much information as I could from my
