Writing Assignment: Construct a Parallel Line
Start off with line segment AB.
Draw point C off of the line segment.

Draw a line through point C that intersects with line AB, forming point D.
Set the compass width to about half the length between point C and point D. Place the compass
point on point D and draw an arc that crosses both lines.
Without changing the compass width, place the compass point on point C and draw an arc just
like the previous one. Set the compass width to the distance between the two points where the
lower arc crosses. Place the compass point on the point where the top arc crosses the line and
draw an arc that intersects with the upper arc. This forms point E.

Use a ruler and draw a straight line through point C and point E.
