Flower 1 of 3 Krystle Flower VIS 145A Final Paper Final Essay: The World Wide Web and Design The Internet’s original intent was to be used as a structure to contain information, hence the nick name ‘information super highway.’ HyperText Markup Language created various different methods for people to browse and view information in a database setting. This method was easy for people to gather information and be able to use it effectively. It also made it easier for people to see collective amounts of information at one time, including but not limited to e-journals, movies, audio files and to be able to access databases of information. With advancements in hot linking, readers were able to find and retrieve relevant information and use it to obtain the optimum meaning and use out of documents that they viewed online. This made it easier to archive and reference, as well as create new readings on particular subjects. The concept of ‘web design’ was designated as an important tool to utilize in order to effectively manage the amount of interaction between the user and the internet. It
