A sample scenario that would be presented to students in the VIVA is presented below. The student
would have 8 minutes prior to VIVA to the video whilst online and in view of the assessor to
consider their thoughts and how they will approach the questons. Students are permitted to write
answers during the reading tme and can refer to them during the interview. If the marker is of the
opinion that students are referring to writen material the student would be required to atend a
VIVA on campus.

Mrs Joan Wong is a 60-year-old lady who has fallen from a ladder and fractured her right clavicle (#R
clavicle). Initally there were concerns about her experiencing a brief loss of consciousness, however
her neurological observations and vital signs are now within normal parameters. Whilst she has been
an inpatent, she has been diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes.
Whilst participatng in a physiotherapy session just before lunch Mrs Wong begins sweatng
profusely, appears a little confused and complains of dizziness. Your buddy nurse helps you to take a
