Engineers had to go through a lot of obstacles before that could become culturally accepted. I would think that being looked down upon for knowing science and math would discourage many people from even thinking about being an engineer. At the end of the first part, Auyang starts talking about “science wars” and I’m very interested in hearing more about that....
