William Vahey Section 3031 Topic 5 Joseph Heller loved Yossarian’s character role so much that he has decided to make him immortal, in the way by which he would never write a death for him in any sequel of Catch 22. Yossarian is older than seventy years old now and can not out run the reaper forever, as a matter of fact, he will be dead by the end of the next page because I am going to write a death for him. Yossarian is now seventy-seven years of age and lives in a retirement home in Sweden. Like most veterans who have seen war’s ugly face, he suffers from post- dramatic stress disorder. He is not alone though. The retirement home in which he resides is full of war veterans who are just as crazy as he is. Although the residents of this retirement home suffer from all sorts of mental illnesses, they have recognized their commonalities and become a close knit of friends. This retirement home, known to its residents as “The Catch Loft” is located high upon the face of a mountain. It is not a large building but it houses up to twenty-two
