Eric Johnston SUNY Fredonia Fredonia, NY 14063 October 10 th , 2007 Mrs. Lutz Dunkirk Middle School Dunkirk, NY 14048 Dear Mrs. Lutz, My name is Eric Johnston from SUNY Fredonia. I grew up in Olean, NY and have always had a passion for teaching. I originally was an accountant major at JCC but transferred here after realizing an office job just was not for me, which brings me to my current major. I am a sophomore math adolescence education major and after one field experience last semester I am excited to start my second one. My fellow tutor and I have assessed your home base student Julian Richmond and have realized he is a very bright student. His main weakness is clearly his mathematical skills. For the first couple weeks we have assisted him with math homework and remembering the rules he is reviewing from last year. The

This will also cover showing work, accurately, and reviewing his work when finished in hopes that he can bring these skills to other classes as well. I would just like to thank you for the opportunity to help a local student as well as give myself practice in the field of teaching.
