Charly Middlemas Emmie White Cookie Monster Day 1: Teaching Pre-Control Skills Dribbling in selfspace Bouncing a ball down and catching it Bouncing a ball down (dribbling) continuously Dribbling and walking Day 2: Teaching Control Level All the time dribble Dribbling like a basketball player Dribbling at different heights Dribbling and looking up Dribbling and switching hands Dribbling in different pathways Day 3: Cookie Monster Age Group/ Level : Third to sixth grade Objective/Purpose : As a result of participating in this lesson children will be able to explain the definition of a calorie, and explain the intake and output of calories. This lesson will also help cardio respiratory fitness. Equipment Needed : a cookie for each student, a ball for each student, cones to set up boundaries and pathways, music Description of activity: Each student takes one cookie. Today we will be learning about calories. Each cookie has about 60 calories. A calorie is a way to measure energy. It is measure by how much energy is required to heat 1 gram of water 1˚C.
