Man’s Final Destiny Individual Eschatology The Resurrections The Judgments Individual Eschatology Death and the Believer “Though death is both real and inevitable, it is unnatural. . .. Eventually death will be finally conquered (1 Cor 15:26) and banished from the new creation: ‘And death and Hades were thrown into the Lake of Fire’ (Rev 20:14).” -- Benware, UETP , p. 294 Believers need not fear death, for the Lord Jesus is the Victor! When a believer dies, he or she is instantly in the presence of the Lord. The Resurrections Christ, the first fruits “But now Christ has been raised from the dead, the first fruits of those who are asleep.…in Christ all will be made alive. But each in his own order: Christ the first fruits, after that those who are Christ's at His coming, then comes the end, when He hands over the kingdom to the God and Father, when He has abolished all rule and all authority and power.” 1 Cor. 15:20, 22- 24 The Judgments Despite the terminology used in the media and popular culture, there is not one single “Judgment Day.” And judgment certainly will not be administered by the governor of California! The Bible teaches several divine judgments of different people (in 3 main phases).
