Did you know that at least 20% of men are affected by Hypoactive Sexual Desire Disorder or HSDD? HSDD is a problem that though more women are effected by, men also are effected especially as they age (Sexual Health Australia). HSDD can be either persistent or recurrent, and lowers the person’s sexual desires, thoughts, and even their receptiveness to sexual activity. HSDD is not something that is a lifelong issue, though it can be. It can also show up randomly after going through a normal life without any symptoms of HSDD (Hypoactive Sexual Desire Disorder in Men).A theory by Bancroft has stated that HSDD is best described as two opposing forces are hypothesized to control sexual response (Hypoactive Sexual Desire in Men). On one side there are parts of the brain that would protect the male from unpleasant or risky sexual behavior, fear due to anxiety, and depression.
