Operating system (OS) overview
 Operating System
 What is an OS: It is a software that connects the user and the hardware.
 Why is the OS needed: It is needed because it is the only way we can communicate to
the computer without knowing the computer language.
 What does an OS do: It help to access the GUI and CUI.
 User’s Role within the OS
 The user inputs commands and the operating system interprets them.

 Kernel applications are inbuilt into the Graphical User Interface of the computer system which enable the software to
function effectively subsequently on day-to-day bases.


 Explorer
 Files
 Word
 Power point

OS vulnerabilities
 Windows, Linux, MAC, Mobile Devices, SQL PL,/SQl, XML and other
injections
 Windows Defender – Also known as Antivirus, prevents remediate
threats and help discover other threats such as malware files, blocking
exploits and network-based attacks and flagging phishing sites.
