Evidence of intersensory facilitation Colonius & Diedrich define intersensory facilitation as a phenomenon in which a combination of set stimuli enhances the response to a single stimulus or set of stimuli by one or more sensory stimuli. They continue to describe that this facilitation manifests as the increase of speed in reaction time, lowered sensory time, and increased recognition rate of stimuli. These stimuli may be in the form of loudness or other aspects such as brightness. This lab aimed at identifying the evidence of intersensory facilitation. This lab was successful as data from both categories indicated a considerable reduction in visual and auditory reaction time when a concurrent stimulation happened. This is in comparison to when the stimulation was done individually, which indicated a higher reaction time.
