FINAL STUDY GUIDE Chapter 9 Questionnaire Design pg 234 When designing a questionnaire there are steps to be taken but it will often be modified with loops or with some iteration. These loops occur when you comlete the questionnaire, you read it and some question doesn’t make sense so you go back and fix it. Working back and forth between stages is natural. Specify what information will be sought p235 Hypothesis of a questionnaire decides what info will be sought and from whom because they specify what relationships will be investigated. New hypothesis are not good to investigate unless they are essential to the understanding of the phenomenon. New hypothesis cost more and lengthen questionnaires lowering response rates. Who cares if it is “interesting” The questionnaire for an exploratory study is loosely structured with only a rough idea of the kind of information that will be sought.
