NAME OF YOUR LOCATIONIntroductionMOLE NATIONAL PARKMole National Park is Ghana's biggest and bestNational Park and islocated in West Gonja District of theNorthern region. It is 24 km from, thedistrict capital, 146km southeast of Tamale, the Regional capital.Theparkis700km from Accra and 430km from Kumasi.Moleis one of sevennationalparksin Ghana. And other wildlife properties comprises of six resourcesreserves, two wildlife refuges.HISTORYInitially, the park's lands were set aside as a wildlife refuge in 1958. AndIn 1971the little human population of that area was relocated and the lands wereofficially designated a national park. The indigenous people who live there arethe Dagombas, Gonjas, Mamprusi, Nanumba, Vegas, and the obis. And thelanguage they speak is Akan. Akan comprises of three different dialects whichare; Fante, Asante Twi, and Akwaim Twi. Asante Twi is widely used. Akan is thePage 1

It is best known for its elephants (a population of about600) as well as many other primates.Look at the star rating for Mole Park,tourist have got to say a lot about this place. And one of the most generalinteresting comments they’ve made getting to see wildlifein their naturalhabitat. And some of this animals are; firstly, elephants, Baboons, warthogs,crocodile and Owl. These are some of the animals they never get to see in theirlives before until they visited the park.WEATHERFrom JaJanuary to February the climate isPretty fair. For instance, 40°C asmaximum temperature in February and it rains in February about 24mm.Between March and May, the climate isn’t really that favorable but still it’sstill friendly. On average, in the morning it is 25°In June the climate is good. By early evening, the temperature averages30°C and it rains about 51% of the time in June.Between July and October, the climate is okay. It is for example 34°C asmaximum temperature in October and you can expect to have 106mm ofrainfall per each month during this period. And also, During December tomarch the harmattan (winds from the Sahara) makes things a little hazyand dusty, but the dust can actually reduce the sun's intensity (and it isthe best time to visit Mole). Then from April to June is therainy season. Mole is definitely the best park to visit.Between Novemberand December, the climate is good. On average, in the morning it is 23°Cand it rains about 1mm each month Most people avoid going to the parkduring the December to March period because it’s very dusty and hence,Page 2
