Lab 6 Electricity Bill Worksheet Your name_________Erin Petrucellir_____________________________ Directions: Make a list of the appliances you have at home and their power ratings. Some common appliances and their power ratings are given below. Refrigerator – 800 W; water heater – 3 kW; electric iron – 700 W; cooking range 1200 W; air conditioner – 2.5 kW; everything else together – 900 W. Decide on the numbers of hours each of these appliances is used. Calculate the number of units for each appliance by multiplying the power of each appliance in kilowatt (kW) by the time it is used in hours per day. Add the number of units for each to obtain the total number of units used per day. Multiply the number of units per day by 30 to obtain the number of units used per month. Multiply the total number of units by 0.08 to obtain your electricity bill for the month. 1. Use these values to complete the following table.
