Urban sprawl and its effect on the environment and human Introduction Urban sprawl is the effect of the suburbs . There are many reasons why people move from rural areas into the urban areas. Nothing is close enough to walk to, so people drive to work, to the grocery store, to pick up their kids from school, etc. In the middle of a city, the grocery store is probably easy to walk to than drive to and public transportation is readily available such as grocery stores that are too far away to walk to or sometimes there are not enough jobs in the country so they move to the city to try to get a job and cities will have better schools, hospitals, shops, restaurants and better roads than in the rural areas. As the result, when many people move into city or town, that cause many problems for the environment and people. There are many effect that urban sprawl bring to environment and human. Climate change: Human consumption could change the environment by their activities. Statistically “people who live in urban is using more food and using more car and using durable goods such as TV, washing machine, and refrigerator than rural populations” by (Jeffrey R. Taylor and Karen A. Hardee, 1986) . Besides, urban population use more
