Biosocial - The brain and the body, and the social forces that influence the development of the brain and the body Ex. At what age on average does a child walk? Not just norms, but how the environment affects development. How are people similar in the way they develop? B. Cognitive Development - intellectual function, including memory, language development, and the way we think. C. Psycholsocial - personality, emotions, and the social forces that influence their development. 1. Looking for commonalties and differences in peoples' development. 2. Examining the interaction between genes and the environment. Ex. Schizophrenia developing in a person because of genes and environment. 3. Looking at the lifespan in terms of distinct stages.
