HIST 2112: U.S. History since 1877 Spring 2008, Professor Flamming Newspaper Project # 1 (20 percent of your course grade) Read this assignment carefully. There is a steep learning curve, and you just have to work through it, but it is worth it. The rules of the assignment are covered in detail below, and I try to address frequently asked questions. Rules: 1. You must do all of the work yourself. 2. Read your newspaper ON MICROFILM in the Georgia Tech Library. The microfilm reels are available – on a self-serve basis – on the library shelves, 2 nd Floor East. The newspapers are arranged alphabetically, from the Atlanta Constitution to the Washington Post . Each reel of microfilm is contained in a small box; the box lable indicates the range of dates that are covered on that reel. 3. Choose among the following newspapers: Atlanta Constitution (AN2 .A84X) Atlanta Journal (AN2 .A88X) New York Times (AN2 .N48X) Wall Street Journal (for you business types, AN3 .W35X) 4. Once you have got the reel you need, take the roll of film out of the box and load it on one of
