Neurons process all thoughts, feelings and behavior. Theneuron has 6 components. The cell body which coordinated the tasks and keeps the cellalive. The dendrite that relays the information they receive from other neurons into thecell body. The component that transmits information to either muscles, glands, or othermuscles is called the axon. The myelin sheath provides a layer of fatty material.Glial cellsare support cells in the nervous system. And the synapse is a region between the axon ofone neuron and the dendrites of another. Sensory neurons are the ones that receiveinformation from the external world and convey it to the brain via the spinal cord. Theseneurons receive signals for light, sound, touch, taste, and smell.Whereas motor neuronscarry signals from the spinal cord into the muscles in order to produce movement.Interneurons connect these two neurons and other interneurons.
