Helpful Hints: Running Python
1. If you don't have an icon for python, use search and enter IDLE. It should show up and
you just have to click it for it to bring up the python shell.
2. To create a program in Python, select the New File menu option under the File tab.
3. When the new file opens, simply start typing at the top
a. Put a hashtag followed by your name and repeat for the name of the program
you are writing. The hashtag tell the computer to ignore the text because it is a
comment:
#Vanya Martin
#My first program
b. Indentions are important and we'll talk more about them later, but for now
just try to make sure every program statement is lined up:

4. When you are ready to run your program:
c. Click the F5 key on your keyboard, or select the Run Module menu option
under Run tab.
