Chris Blanco Phil206 Sec 04/01 3/19/08 In regards to the question: “in the consciousness chapter, which do you find more  persuasive: compatibilism or incompatibilism?” I believe that compatibilism is more persuasive.  While incompatibilism states that one cannot believe in both determinism and freewill  simultaneously, compatibilism states that both can be supported at the same time.  Incompatibilists claim that if determinism is true, then we do not have free will; and if we have  free will, then determinism is false.  This has a lower probability of being true than compatibilism
