ANALYZING THE CULTURE OF DELHI, INDIA 2AbstractI have chosen the personally unfamiliar culture of India to analyze and research. I analyzed a twoand a half hour long Indian film titled “Sixteen” directed by Raj Purohit. The film gives an insight to the teenage life and parents of Delhites culture. After analyzing the film I researched Delhi, India’s rich and diverse culture and found some interesting similarities to the American culture that I am familiar with. This paper will contain the description and main points of the film “Sixteen”. Also, the ways of life and uniqueness of the Delhi culture. The similarities and differences between Delhi and American culture’s. Lastly, my perspective of visiting or living in India and explanation of experiencing culture shock.
ANALYZING THE CULTURE OF DELHI, INDIA 3Description and Main Points of the FilmThe film “Sixteen” was released July 12, 2013, directed by Raj Purohit and produced by Shailesh R. Singh and Vishwas Joshi. It is a two and a half hour, Hindi Language and Bollywoodfilm that takes place in the capital of India, Delhi. The story line consist of a group of friends, four main characters that are sixteen year old, three females and one male, they all go to the sameprivate school in Urban India, but they come from different family backgrounds. Overall, the film gives an insight to the life of teenagers in Delhi, India.The main points of the movie are the way that the characters’ lives play out. Character one Anu, is a cheery and determined girl who dreams and works on becoming a model. She deals
