A Fangoriously Delightful Method of Extrapolating a Chemical Formula Lab Experiment #4: Introduction : In this lab we are observing chemical reactions by introducing metals into water and acids as well as figuring out the chemical formula of a compound through acid- base titration. Pre-Lab Questions: Attached Data : Attached Calculations: Attached Review Questions: Attached Discussion : In the first part of the experiment required us to add zinc and calcium to HCl and water in order to observe any chemical reactions. We first added Zn into 2 ml 6M HCl and immediately noticed a reaction take place as the solution began to fizz up and began producing heat indicating it is an exothermic reaction. We used another test-tube in order to determine if any gas is produced and when we lit a match and put it under the test-tube and heard a distinct squeak and the match blew out. We can determine that hydrogen gas was produced because it is flammable and when it was burned it created a vacuum and air
