Final Review Reading requirement: CH 1-15 1.You should be familiar with the concept of "rhetorical situation." What are the basic components of the rhetorical situation and how do they relate to one another? (CH 1, Aug 27) 2.You should be familiar with the four methods of delivery (methods of preparing and delivering speeches) discussed in class. What are strengths and weaknesses of each? (CH 12, Aug 27) 3.You should know the best method for choosing a topic and strategies for narrowing your choice. You should be able to explain obstacles to effective speechmaking that arise from the subject of the speech. (CH 5, Sep 17) 4. Any speech can be divided into three parts. You should know what they are, the function or functions of each, and how all three contribute to developing the speech as a whole. (CH 1, 9 “Step by Step” guide ) Introduction, Body, conclusion 5. You should be familiar with different patterns of organization for speeches and be able to recognize examples of each. (CH 1, 9)
