HEALTHCARE COMMUNICATION METHODS: NURSING HOME2Healthcare Communication Methods: Nursing Home AdministratorAs an administrator of a nursing home, the facility had just received notification that the organization is being purchased by a national group. Because of new policies to be implemented, some of the residents will be displaced. Some of these residents have trouble communicating, have no family that is close, and have not indicated that they approve to release their medical information. Arrangements mustbe made for these individuals. This maybe a very difficult for everyone involved. The best thing to do now it to use the many different types of communications that are such as, traditional meeting, electronic communication, and social media, to get in touch with the patents family or their power of attorney but, stay within the guide line that HIPAA has put in place to protect the patient. With all these new way of communications between doctors, nursing homes, staff, and within the corporation, even though it might be easy or faster it might not always be the best way to get things done. All types of communication has its advantages anddis advantages. Before making any arrangements for these patients, there are several factors that play a part; such as the different communication methods that can be used to communicate with patients. We must take notice that each patient is different, and each patient communicates on different levels or none at all. We must not forget that communication is a process that will involve exchange of information, thoughts, and all different types of emotions.
