To begin, make sure SSH Secure Shell Client and SSH Secure File Transfer Client are installed. • If you are using a computer within a SINC site or a lab room , both programs should already be installed, and can skip to the next step. • If you are working on your own personal computer , make sure to have the SSH Secure Shell Client and SSH Secure File Transfer Client installed before proceeding. Also make sure you have your Sparky username and password. Your username can be obtained via SOLAR ( http://www.stonybrook.edu/solarsystem ). If you do not remember your password, you MUST go to a SINC site to get the password reset. Having your Sparky username and password is incredibly important to this process; WITHOUT THEM YOU CANNOT SUBMIT THE LABS! 2. Open up the SSH Secure Shell Client and login to Sparky with your username/password by pressing the “Quick Connect” button. Press space a few times, and then press Enter when prompted.
