Observation and interview Tiffany Dentlinger Interview: For gifted students is there any program? There is no official program but there is Spoof Hound time were students can work on special projects with students at their level. During this time students are challenged with more problem solving and thinking skills. The gifted can meet at this time with a teacher to work on different projects. Mr. Lynn says that they are working on a program for the gifted that is more challenging. Are parents involved in the IEP meetings? Ms. Macke says that only about 9% show up and are involved. There are about 10% that don’t even show to the meetings at all. Some parents fell that the child is more intelligent then their parents said Ms. Sutten. What is the most challenging thing in the special education room? Ms. Macke says that the problem in the special education room is not the students but the parents. Some parents are supportive, but a few baby their child. Some have unrealistic expectations for their child or even the teacher. She feels she has to educate
