Assignment 1 Legal Environment 1. Natalie, who is married with two children, was injured at a hotel due to its negligence. She broke her leg and suffered a back injury. As a result she was bedridden for five weeks, missed work during that time, and experience considerable pain. What type(s) of damages should she be able to collect from the hotel? What type will she like not be able to collect? -Natalie will be able to collect compensatory damages but will not be able to collect punitive damages. The compensatory damages include the wages she lost while she was off, pain and suffering, and the fact she was confined to her bed for 5 weeks. She won’t be collecting the punitive damages because the act was not aggravated by violence or a similar egregious wrong. 2. Assume that you live in California and are on vacation, traveling by car from California to Texas. You are injured in a motel room when the bed on which you are sleeping collapses, causing you to fall to the floor. You
