Phoenix has an overpowering love for her grandson. Her character is of interest to me because it lets the reader love can conquer anything. There was an officer who humiliates her and she still says nothing, she did not allow her pride to get in the way. She found herself disobeying God when she began stealing and begging. She stole a nickel from the hunter and she beggedthe officer for 5 pennies. She was completely guided by her love, which made her courageous.•What kind of conflict (internal/external) did this character encounter, and how did he or she handle it?The internal conflict would be that she is she loves her grandson and she knows she has to do whatever it takes to help him. She wants to help her grandson, obviously, who not alive, so no one is taking her seriously. She handles the situation with courage, an obstacle that got in her way she overcame it.
