Spencer Syfrig April 17, 2006 Extra Credit Second Harvest Food Bank On April 7 and 8 my fraternity, Sigma Phi Epsilon, volunteered at the Second Harvest Food Bank. I arranged the effort after attending the Hunger Simulation. I contacted the volunteer coordinator and set up a date and time for us to work. We had one group go on each of the two days. I attended the first session from 12:30-4:30. We sorted food that comes in from grocery stores and other donators into different boxes. We had to

In the end I think we did around 6,000 pounds, which they said was a great amount for a group of our size. It was a lot of fun and I have since recommended the program to other fraternities and sororities as a source of community service hours....
