The story that I choose is “The Gift of the Magi,” by O. Henry. I identified with both characters Jim and his wife, Della. I found both character interesting that they gave out of love and self-sacrifice because they know the value of self-giving love. They cared more about each other and wanted to make sure the other one was happy even if that meant giving up something that meant the most to them. A conflict that I examine was external conflict, and this was man vs. society. The couple tries to survive in the midst of poverty.
