Running Head: SIMPLIFYING2In this assignment I will be utilizing terms such as simplify, like terms, coefficient, distributive, and the term, removing parentheses. The expressions I will be simplifying will be 2a(a-5)+4(a-5), 2w-3+3(w-4)-5(w-6), and 0.05(0.3m+35n)-0.8(-0.09n-22m). It is important to know the properties of real numbers when performing computations so you know what the rules are every step of the way. 2a(a-5)+4(a-5), Simplify by distribution Distributive Property(2a x a – 2a x 5)+(4 x a – (4 x 5)), Combine coefficients, Distributive Property(2a2-10a) + (4a – 20), Remove the parenthesis, Associative Property of Addition2a2– 10a + 4a – 20, Commutative Property of Addition2a2+ (-10a + 4a) – 20, Combine like terms, Additive Inverse Property2a2– 6a – 20 = Expression SimplifiedI started this equation the same way I always do. I look it over to decide which property has precedence and which part of the equation to begin with. This equation starts by simplifying by distribution.
