Strategies of reviewing and critiquing literature in Advanced Practice NurseAccording to [Wal05], research is an organized questioning on to answer queries that areunanswered or to provide knowledge where a vacuum exists. The main objective of a researchendeavor is to create, improve and increase knowledge. Nurses are always in the pursuit of asystematic research to create new and trustworthy matters of concern in their field. Reviewingand critiquing literature in APN can be done in two ways, though Evidence Based Practice (EPB)and Research by Hospital Based Nurses’ Approach. In EPB, nurses read investigative reports todevelop new expertise and to seek pertinent knowledge that may affect their practices of APN.This approach is referred to as Consumer of Nursing Research. In conjunction to this, nurses alsoengage in producer of nursing approach where former trainers of nurses engage in research tocome up with better methods on how to handle patients.
