1. Today I had a hair appointment at Gjesto’s, which is a nice salon and spa located in Novi, MI. When I arrived I was quickly greeted by my stylist, Kayla, whom escorted me to her chair. As I sat down she ran her fingers through my brown hair and asked me how she could service me today. I was feeling bold and told her I wanted to go “platinum blonde”. For someone who has never dyed their hair before, this was definitely out of character for me. Kayla began to apply bleach through every strand of my hair. She then took me to the sink to wash out the dye and cleanse my hair. Next, she towel dried my hair and escorted me back to her chair. She then brushed through my snarled hair and blew dry it straight. When I saw the results, I could hardly recognize myself. I loved my new bleach blonde hair. I practically felt like a new woman. a. What drives women change their hair color? What causes women to not dye their hair? b. This is something worth studying because it is so relevant to our day in age. Many women varying from 13 to 70 years old dye their hair once in their life if not consecutively. c. From my personal experience I believe that personality traits are a driving factor which could help explain why women dye their hair. For instance, those who are “risk takers” are probably most likely to change their hair color. Those who are modest are more unlikely make a drastic change. Secondly, dying hair can be timely and expensive. This is a possible driver for women whom do not dye their hair. 2. Today I drove to Lifetime Fitness to meet up with my boyfriend for a workout. We checked in and dropped off our bags in the locker room. We headed upstairs to the weight room, which in the past I dreaded. I always feel more comfortable having my
