Client/Server applications are entering into more businesses every day. C/S applications are the new wave of using c/s capabilities for companies to improve their business. I have gathered information regarding percentages of how many companies are using new C/S applications to more efficiently run their business. This report will show that there are already many standard c/ s applications in use today, but also the new and future forms of using c/s applications and what the next generation of c/s is leading up to. How it applies to class: In lesson 8 it talks about Client/Server Fundamentals, applications are now turning into being a very fundamental part of all major corporations c/s infrastructure. Building Blocks: Applications Middleware Network services Local services Operating system and computing hardware Client/server processes – The applications C/S Application processes perform the application functions on the client side. They have the following properties: They interact with the user through a GUI or Object oriented user interface.

They perform application functions like report generation or object manipulation. They interact with the client middleware by forming queries and commands in an application programming interfaces format understandable by the client middleware. They receive responses from the server middleware and display them. Client server applications employ the C/S model to deliver business aware functionalities which is why so many enterprises are using them. C/S applications provide a powerful and flexible mechanism for organization to fit business needs. (2.1-2.3 Engineering Technology Client Server Webpage. The advancement of Client Server Applications Most companies claim they don’t like using c/s applications at first, but after they see how helpful it can be they seem to like it, according to Software Engineering Journal.
