Results and Discussion: . Using the Spartan software, a hypothetical drug molecule was created to fit into a given receptor site. First, steps were taken to master the use of the Spartan software. In Part A of the lab, a few molecules were built using Spartan in order to gain familiarity with the software. In Part B, the Spartan software was used to construct the molecules used in the prelab assignment in order to verify their structures, formal charges, molecular shapes, and molecular polarities.
